Set up your AI receptionist

Five steps, about ten minutes: your shop, hours, job types, a phone number and a test call.

Updated September 30, 2026

The first time you open Jobs, BayRobin takes you to Setup. You can come back to it any time from the Setup tab until you've finished.

1. Your shop

Enter your Business name (the receptionist says it on every call) and add Your cell phone: every appointment the receptionist books is texted there. Click Next: hours.

There's no service area to set up: customers bring the vehicle to you. BayRobin adds common job types for a repair shop, like oil changes, brake inspection and repair, and check-engine light diagnosis, with typical price ranges you can change.

2. Hours

Tick the days you're open and set opening and closing times. The receptionist answers around the clock, but only books appointments inside these hours. Click Next: job types.

3. Job types

Check the list, then click Looks good: create my receptionist. To change a job type's length or price range, use Settings.

4. Phone number

Click Choose a number to pick a local number for the receptionist, or keep your existing number and forward it to BayRobin.

5. Test call

Call your BayRobin number from your cell, or click Call from my browser. Pretend your car needs an oil change, give it a year, make and model, and book an appointment. Then click I made a test call: go live. The job shows up under Jobs and you get a text.
