Set up canned jobs, your labor rate and the inspection checklist
The work you do most, priced once; your shop's labor rate and sales tax; and what techs check on every inspection.
Labor rate and sales tax
In Jobs › Settings › Labor rate and tax, enter your hourly labor rate and your sales tax percent. Tax goes on parts and fees; tick Charge sales tax on labor too if your state taxes labor.
Canned jobs
Open Jobs › Canned jobs. BayRobin starts you with common ones (oil change, front and rear brakes, battery, diagnosis, alignment and more) at typical prices: change them to yours.
- Click Edit on one, or Add canned job.
- Add a line for each part of the job: Labor in hours (leave the price empty to use your shop rate), Part with a quantity and price, or a Fee.
- Click Save.
Changing a canned job doesn't change repair orders that already have it.
Inspection checklist
On the same page, Inspection checklist lists what your technicians check. A line ending in a colon starts a section, like Brakes:, and each line under it is an item. Click Save checklist. New inspections use the new list; inspections already started keep theirs.
